Dear Steve & Jose,
Hey, boys! Do you remember me, the "flame fire" girl who met you in
Guangzhou? Aha, you can call me Lee. It's so amazing to meet you, and I can't
stop missing you!
I am writing to tell you more about the Guangzhou Youth LGBT Community
and the special girls' group of it. As you already know, Guangzhou Youth LGBT
Community was established 3 years ago, but it wasn't until last year that we had
the girls' group. I was working for a lesbian on-line radio show during the last two
years, and I happened to hear about the Guangzhou Youth LGBT Community,
then the idea that I could interview the Community's president Doudou on our
radio show just came to me! So I got in touch with Doudou and finished the
interview job. It's very surprising to find out that Doudou and I were in the same
university! We have been very close friends since then.
I started to work for Guangzhou Youth LGBT Community. I was the only girl
and only lesbian volunteer at that time. I felt I was "an other sheep" then, haha.
Just joking, the gay boys were very nice to me. Then we realized we could have
a girls' group and do something for lesbian students, which would turn the
community to be really LGBT!
Now we have more than ten girls in the community and we have held many
activities in the city. The Girls's Group has also created a free service called
mobile message newspaper, which provide people in different places including
our straight friends, with a LGBT news by mobile phone message weekly. Yep,
the idea was from me, who is crazily fond of mass communication, and I believe
that we LGBT groups should make good good use of varying communication
channels to do our job.
I should say thank you again for bring such fantastic information to us.
Looking forward to a reply from you. I wish the wish you wish to wish, aha~~~~~
